Biography
Cory Snavely leads the NERSC Infrastructure Services Group at Berkeley Lab, which supports container and virtual machine platforms underlying a variety of “edge services” that complement and integrate with the supercomputing environment, such as science gateways and databases. He coordinates the Spin project, a Containers-as-a-Service (CaaS) system at NERSC designed to enable users to independently build and deploy edge services using Docker. He has over 25 years of experience building and maintaining scalable technology infrastructure in a variety of different industries including research computing, data archiving, scientific publishing, higher education, and digital libraries.
