Biography
Wei Zhang is a Ph.D Candidate in the Department of Computer Science at Texas Tech University (TTU). His research interests broadly lies in scalable data management. Currently, he works on metadata and provenance management for scientific data. As the leading author, his published research works include:
1) DART: distributed adaptive radix tree for efficient affix-based keyword search on HPC systems (PACT '18) (DOI: 10.1145/3243176.3243207),
2) MIQS: Metadata Indexing and Querying Service for Self-Describing File Formats (SC '19) (DOI: 10.1145/3295500.3356146),
3) Exploring Metadata Search Essentials for Scientific Data Management (HiPC '19) (DOI: unknown yet).

He also participated in the research on graph-based metadata management, geo-spatial data mining and analytics. In these research efforts, he also published his research works as either the leading author or the co-author, including:
1) AKIN: a streaming graph partitioning algorithm for distributed graph storage systems (CCGrid '18) (as leading author, DOI:10.1109/CCGRID.2018.00033) ,
2) IOGP: An Incremental Online Graph Partitioning Algorithm for Distributed Graph Databases (HPDC '17) (as second co-author, DOI:),
3) Improving Nighttime Light Imagery With Location-Based Social Media Data (TGRS) (as second co-author, DOI: 10.1109/TGRS.2018.2871788),
4) Tweets or nighttime lights: Comparison for preeminence in estimating socioeconomic factors (ISPRS) (as third co-author, DOI: 10.1016/j.isprsjprs.2018.08.018)
