Bert de Jong is a senior scientist at LBNL. Currently, he is the director of the Quantum Algorithms Team, and a senior staff on the Testbed Pathfinder project at LBNL, both funded by DOE Advanced Scientific Computing. A computational chemist by training, his research is focused on the develop HPC software, machine learning approaches for chemistry and materials, and scientific problems in heavy element chemistry and biochemistry.
