Biography
Dr. Dan Stanzione is the Executive Director of the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) and an Associate Vice President for Research at the University of Texas at Austin. Dan is the PI for the new NSF "Towards a Leadership Class Computing Facility" resource award, as well as the PI for the Stampede2 and Stampede supercomputers. Dan has been involved in a number of large scale cyberinfrastructure projects at TACC, including Ranger, Cyverse, and DesignSafe, among many others. Prior to TACC, Dan was the Director for HPC at Arizona State University. Dan has a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Clemson University, and served as a AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow at NSF.
