Karan Bhatia is a Cloud Specialist for Google Cloud Platform and leads the efforts around scientific computing. Prior to joining Google, Dr. Bhatia was co-founder of a startup focused on mobile beacons and data analytics; built a cloud-native genomics platform for next generation sequence analysis; served as a PI and co-PI for a number of National Science Foundation projects while at the San Diego Supercomputer Center. An expert in distributed systems with a PhD and MS from the University of California, San Diego, he currently resides in New Jersey.
