Biography
Dr. Gokcen Kestor is a Senior Research Scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Her research solves computer science challenges in HPC software, such as scalability, energy efficiency, programmability and portability, and enables scalable execution of scientific applications on increasingly complex large-scale parallel systems. Her primary expertise is in HPC system software, i.e., providing performance and energy efficiency on advanced HPC systems through runtime and compiler optimizations. Her secondary expertise is in extreme-scale application and system characterization, developing methodologies and tools to understand the impact of hardware, system software, and application characteristics on key HPC system design factors: performance, power consumption, and portability. Her work creates innovations in runtimes, compilers, and programming models.
