Biography
Suren Byna is a Staff Scientist in the Scientific Data Management (SDM) Group of the Computational Research Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). His research interests are in scalable storage systems and I/O. More specifically, he works on optimizing parallel I/O and on developing systems for managing massive amounts of scientific data. He is the lead PI of the Exascale Computing Project (ECP) funded ExaHDF5 and ExaIO projects. He is also a PI of DOE ASCR funded object-centric data management systems (Proactive Data Containers - PDC) and experimental and observational data management (EOD-HDF5) projects.
