Biography
Salvatore Cielo got his Ph.D. at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, Germany. He then spent three years as researcher in Computational Astrophysics at the Institute d'Astrophysique de Paris, mainly investigating Active Galactic Nuclei in galaxies and galaxy clusters. In 2018, he moved to the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) in Garching, Germany, in the High Performance Computing and Application Support systems divisions. He focuses mainly in projects of Computational Astrophysics on HPC systems, including high-level support, code optimization, data analysis, and scientific visualizations.
