S. J. Ben Yoo received the B.S. degree (with distinction) in electrical engineering, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering with a minor in physics, all from Stanford University, Stanford, CA, in 1984, 1986, and 1991, respectively. He is currently a Distinguished Professor of electrical engineering at the University of California at Davis (UC Davis), Davis. His research at UC Davis includes high-performance all-optical devices, systems, and networking technologies for the future Internet.
