Mark Klein is a systems architect in the office of the CTO for the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) where he manages a portfolio of initiatives relating to Software Defined Infrastructure with a focus on integrating cloud technologies with HPC. In addition to more traditional production systems at CSCS, Mark has designed and launched a number of flexible environments for CSCS. These include an OpenStack environment tuned for HPC workloads that is used to quickly create bespoke HPC cluster environments and that provides a bare-metal testbed available for prototyping, benchmarking, and development projects.
