Tim Scheitlin is a software engineer in the Visualization Services and Research Group at NCAR. He manages the Visualization Lab (VisLab) program, which develops and disseminates innovative visualizations of NCAR science, maintains a venue for outreach and education to diverse audiences, and supports multiple technologies for distributed collaborative science. He creates computer visualizations of severe weather, climate change, wildfires, ocean temperatures, and other geoscience phenomena. Visitors to the Visualization Lab can view scientifically precise, aesthetically engaging animations, displayed in high-definition, often in 3-D, created by Tim and his colleagues.
