David Sickinger is a Researcher in the High Performance Computing Systems and Operations group at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) located in Golden, Colorado. Since 2012, he has been involved with the operation of the mechanical systems supporting NREL’s HPC data center which house the Peregrine and Eagle supercomputers. His current focus is on energy efficient data centers and liquid cooling (NREL has deployed nine different liquid cooling technologies so far). He has a MS degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Arizona and a Post-Graduate Diploma in computer science from the University of Auckland. David is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM - from the Association of Energy Engineers) and a Data Center Energy Practitioner – HVAC Specialist (DCEP - from the U.S. Department of Energy).
