Francis Lee Bu Sung is an Associate Professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He was the founding President of the Singapore Advanced Research and Education Network (SingAREN), which was formed in 2003, and is currently SingAREN Treasurer. Regionally, he served as Chair of the Governors of TEIN*CC, the organization managing the TEIN project funded by the EU, from 2012-2018. Lee was elected as a member of the TEIN*CC Advisory Council in 2018. He is also the Program Committee Chair of the Asia Pacific Advanced Network (APAN), which holds meeting twice a year. Lee was instrumental in the formation of the Asia Pacific Ring, which consists of multi-100Gbps links across the Pacific Ocean. He initiated the Data Transfer Challenge 2019 and 2020 to bring together experts from industry and academia to test their software across global testbeds.
