Silvia Miramontes recently graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in applied mathematics with an emphasis in data science. Last spring, she participated in the Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) program at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab under the supervision of Daniela Ushizima in the Data Analytics and Visualization group within the Computational Research Division. Following the SULI internship, Silvia was admitted to UC Berkeley's 5th Year Master's in Information and Data Science where she continues to work with Daniela Ushizima in the development of machine learning algorithms applied to ceramic matrix composites. After she completes her Master's degree, Silvia intends to pursue her Ph.D. in machine learning or data science.
