Navjot has followed an unconventional career that took him from a degree in Electrical Engineering, through industrial roles in diverse industries like supply chain, aviation, payment management etc., to his current role as a PhD student and Research Assistant at Imperial College. He works with Gerard Gorman and Paul Kelly towards building Devito - a domain-specific language for automatic generation of finite-difference solvers. His recent focus has been on memory-compute tradeoffs including lossy compression, as well as automatic differentiation.
