Jesus A. Izaguirre
Biography
Jesus Izaguirre is involved in the development of software, algorithms, and novel computational chemistry methods. Prior to joining DESRES, Jesus was an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering and Co-Director of the Computer-Aided Molecular Design Core at the University of Notre Dame. His research has focused on the development of scalable algorithms and software for computational chemistry and biology, including longer timesteps for molecular dynamics and enhanced and rare-event sampling. Jesus holds a B.S. in electronic systems engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey and a Ph.D. and M.S. in computer science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where he studied as a Fulbright Scholar from Mexico. In his free time, he enjoys music, reading, and visiting museums and the many cultural sites that New York has to offer.
