Biography
Kenton McHenry is the Deputy Director for the Scientific Software and Applications division at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA), Principal Research Scientists, and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. For the past 8 years Kenton has co-lead NCSA’s Innovative Software and Data Analysis group, a U.S. based RSE body on the University of Illinois campus. The ISDA group aims to simplify access to software development support, provide career paths and continuity for RSE staff, and build novel tools and services in support of scientific data needs through close partnerships with scientific researchers. Kenton further works to support an envisioned national data infrastructure serving as a principal investigator on a number of component efforts such as NSF DIBBs Brown Dog, NSF CSSI Clowder, and the NSF's Open Storage Network.
