Melissa Romanus Abdelbaky
Biography
Melissa Abdelbaky is an Operations Technology Group (OTG) graduate student intern at the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. She is pursuing her PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Rutgers University - New Brunswick. Melissa's research focuses on realtime streaming operational data analytics in data centers that support high-performance computing systems. She is specifically interested in the ways in which operational and environmental datasets can intersect to enable new insights about software and hardware usage, as well as machine learning techniques to enable autonomous facility response after fault detection. Melissa received her BS in ECE from Tufts University in 2010 and her Master’s degree in ECE from Rutgers in 2014. She is passionate about diversity and inclusion in STEM, as well as youth outreach activities.
