Biography
"Anything is possible if you throw enough caffeine at it" is one of Stu's many philosophies, having started in HPC more than 7 years ago he has been hands on with streamlining and optimising HPC processes for building, managing, and supporting in-house clusters. After joining Alces in 2017, Stu has applied this mindset to cloud and hybrid systems besides regular metal clusters to help expand, understand, and improve the HPC design process in a platform-agnostic manner.

2019 saw the launch of the OpenFlightHPC project. An open-source community, spearheaded by Stu, which aims to bring knowledge, design help, tools, and functional HPC environments to everyone, from end-users to admins.

When not developing the future of HPC, Stu can be found doing improv comedy or listening to angry music.
