Nectarios Koziris is a Professor of Computer Science and the Dean of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens. His research interests include parallel and distributed systems, hyperconverged architectures, big data management, and large scale storage systems. He has received numerous awards from the research community and from the hardware industry for pioneering research and insightful contributions in computer systems. He has served in the administration of several research and technology centers in Greece and contributed in the open technologies proliferation by co-founding the Open Technologies Alliance and starting world scale open source projects in the domain of cloud computing. He was among the founding members and now an advisor to a startup based in Palo Alto that develops storage intelligence to access, manage, and store data in large-scale, heterogeneous and hybrid environments.
