Blair Bethwaite has worked in distributed computing for over a decade; both in research and for research; for institutional and national projects; from applications, through grid and cloud middleware, to full HPC and cloud systems design, implementation, and operations. At Monash University, Blair designed and deployed a high-performance data-processing system that uses OpenStack for infra provisioning and built the largest Ceph cluster in the southern hemisphere. Now Solutions Manager at NeSI, Blair is exploring how the Open Infrastructure Cloud can be integrated into NZ's science HPC infrastructure.
